Certified NRT · Connecticut

Your body knows what
it needs to heal.

Nutrition Response Testing is a non-invasive, clinically proven method that identifies the root cause of your health issues — not just the symptoms. Your body tells us exactly what it's working through and what will help.

Dr. Propper is one of the few certified NRT practitioners in Connecticut. If standard treatments haven't given you answers, NRT may be the missing piece.

Understanding NRT

A detailed status report,
straight from your body.

NRT reads your body's neurological reflexes — specific points that correspond to organ and system function.

Dr. Propper identifies nutritional deficiencies and organ stress that standard blood work often misses. Painless, takes minutes.

Then we build your supplement plan around what your body actually told us it needs.

Skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis)
The process

How Nutrition Response Testing
actually works.

Here's what to expect when you come in for your NRT consultation.

01

Health history review

We start by understanding your full health picture — symptoms, diet, lifestyle, goals.

02

Non-invasive assessment

Using your body's neurological reflexes, we identify specific nutritional deficiencies and organ stress.

03

Personalized supplement plan

Based on your results, we build a targeted plan using Standard Process whole-food supplements.

04

Follow-up & tracking

Regular check-ins make sure your body is responding and the plan evolves as you improve.

NRT vs. functional medicine

Both look for the root cause.
Here's how they differ.

Functional medicine relies on extensive lab panels — thorough, but expensive, slow, and often inconclusive for chronic conditions.

NRT reads your body directly. In-office, results in minutes, no waiting weeks for bloodwork.

We believe your body is the best lab.

NRT patient stories

"After years of digestive issues that no one could solve, Dr. Propper identified the problem in my first NRT session. Within six weeks on the supplement plan, my bloating was gone and my energy came back. I wish I'd found this sooner."

"My daughter had chronic headaches that her pediatrician couldn't explain. NRT showed she had specific nutritional deficiencies. Three months later, she's headache-free. The whole process was gentle — she actually looks forward to her visits."

NRT questions

What patients wonder
before their first visit.

How long does an NRT session take?

An initial NRT session typically takes 45–60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are usually 20–30 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients begin to notice changes within 4–6 weeks. Your plan is individualized — some conditions resolve quickly, others require longer support.

Do you sell supplements?

Yes. We carry Standard Process whole-food supplements, which are professional-grade and only available through healthcare practitioners. These are not the same as store-bought vitamins.

Is NRT covered by insurance?

NRT itself is typically not covered by insurance. However, the chiropractic examination that accompanies it often is. Call (203) 226-1047 to discuss your options.

Can children do NRT?

Absolutely. NRT is non-invasive and gentle, making it safe and effective for children of all ages. Many parents bring their kids in for nutritional support.

What's the difference between NRT and applied kinesiology?

While both use muscle testing principles, NRT is a specific clinical system focused on identifying nutritional deficiencies and designing targeted supplement protocols. It's more structured and nutrition-focused than general applied kinesiology.
